Claims Representative

Overview: The Claims Representative provides support to the claims team typically via administering incoming phone calls and emails, to help ensure efficient operation and procedural support. Essential Responsibilities:Administer incoming member calls and emails for the Loan Servicing and Claims teamsDocument systems accurately with member requests, needs or actions be takenProvides assistance to members on basic questions or troubleshooting needs including educating and informing members on claims procedures through either through phone or emailEffectively identifies members’ needs utilizing the highest level of member support and professionalismRedirects calls appropriately to the internal team memberPost transactions as neededAssist with special projects as neededParticipate in training activities to help support the Loan Operations Department as necessary Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED requiredPrior experience in personal insurance industry or with auto insurance preferredAt least one year of experience providing basic customer support or handling inbound callsExperience working in a professional office setting preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to manage multiple systems at one timeStrong communication skills and comfortable when managing communication channelsGood interpersonal and customer service skills to be both fair and clear with members while remaining composed, friendly, and empatheticAttention to detail and accuracy in data entryAbility to learn and maintain proficiency in multiple computer systems including Microsoft Office products and Credit Union systemsAbility to adapt in an ever-changing business environment At GECU, we want to support your wellbeing by offering a wide range of benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance Life and Disability insurance options Paid Time Off starts accruing once hired and take your birthday off -paid 401k Retirement plan with up to a 10% match of your base gross compensation Tuition reimbursement opportunities & professional development Volunteer opportunities -and earn additional PTO hours!
