Aligning with Salk’s vision to be Where Cures Begin, The Salk Institute for Biological Studies Office of Technology Development (OTD) helps translate technologies and assets into marketplace solutions that maximize positive impact on humanity.
OTD supports the Salk research community to disseminate and commercialize Salk innovations through intellectual property protection, licensing, business development, and technology transfer. We implement creative deal structures that facilitate such translation and look forward to building on our history of working with commercialization partners in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and venture communities.
The Salk Institute Mass Spectrometry Core facility conducts mass spectrometry-
based metabolomics and proteomics analysis using state-of-the-art
instrumentation to produce high-quality data supporting Salk research. We are
seeking a hard-working and talented researcher to join our team to execute
sample processing, instrument operation and maintenance, and data processing for
liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis of small to large
molecules. The Research Assistant will utilize advanced sample processing
techniques in preparation for metabolomics and proteomics analysis with
additional exposure to instrument maintenance, and data processing. The
successful candidate will be responsible for these activities, while also
providing support to facility users.
Who We Are
The Salk Institute is an internationally renowned research institution that
values all [https://www.salk.edu/about/our-community/] members of our scientific
community. We seek bold and interactive leaders passionate about exploring new
frontiers in science. Our collaborative community embraces perspectives across
discipline, professional acumen, and unique life experiences, fostering
innovation, and a sense of belonging. Together, we strive to improve the
wellbeing of humanity through groundbreaking research.
Founded by Jonas Salk, developer of the first safe and effective polio vaccine,
the Institute is an independent, nonprofit research organization and
architectural landmark: small by choice, intimate by nature, and fearless in the
face of any challenge. Salk's vibrant community has many talented individuals
from varied backgrounds, each playing a crucial role in driving our mission
forward. From visionary leaders [https://www.salk.edu/about/management-team/] to
dedicated administrators [https://www.salk.edu/administration/] and
brilliant faculty members [https://www.salk.edu/science/directory/faculty/], the
Institute is united by a shared passion for scientific exploration and
innovation.
