To enable the achievement of 3X growth in the company’s annual revenue, with 1/3 rd of the revenue from recurring SaaS subscriptions by initiating global sales conversations with manufacturers who need to know how to detect and resolve the source of their bonding problem. While this may sound mundane, this is the challenge at the root of making products smaller, lighter, and of higher quality. This is a need that thousands of manufactures and product teams are challenged by daily. Customers look to Brighton Science to provide their unique instrumentation to understand how to create better products, as well as improve the quality of the products that they are already making. We are helping our customers understand their problem in new ways, leading to measurable, breakthrough performance. Brighton Science offers a patented solution that detects flaws that cause bonding failure with adhesives and coatings. Unlike other solutions, we find the issue where it happens and lead to faster root cause analysis. The solution from Brighton Science allows for detection and analysis within an individual process, across company facilities, and across a supply chain or innovation network. The company already has relationships with some of the world’s most well-known technology and manufacturing companies. We are embarking on a period of rapid expansion globally. The right candidate will have the opportunity for career defining growth. Job Duties: The Data Operations Engineer is a technical role that lives inside our business systems — roughly ninety percent of the work happens in HubSpot — building the workflows, integrations, and data movement that connect Sales, Revenue Operations, Service, and Finance into one reliable system of record. It is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys untangling how a business actually runs and then automating it so that people spend their time on customers instead of on spreadsheets. You will work alongside our commercial, service, and finance teams to design data models, automate processes end to end, and make sure the numbers everyone reports from are the same numbers. You will also partner closely with our Data Engineer/Data Scientist on data definition and standardization across the business. As a Data Operations Engineer, you have previous hands-on experience administering and automating a CRM platform — HubSpot strongly preferred — and moving data cleanly between systems. The position reports to the Chief Technology Officer and will provide opportunities for career advancement as the company grows. What will I be doing? · Own the design, build, and maintenance of HubSpot workflows, properties, data models, pipelines, and integrations across Marketing, Sales, Service, and Finance. · Partner with Revenue Operations and the sales team to automate lead routing, lifecycle stages, deal stage hygiene, forecasting inputs, territory and ownership rules, and reporting that leadership can trust. · Support the operations and service organization by automating calibration scheduling, instrument and asset records, service tickets, renewal notifications, and the data flow between field service activity and the customer record. · Support the finance team across the quote-to-cash process — quoting, approvals, product and pricing data, order handoff, invoicing, and revenue recognition inputs — by automating handoffs and eliminating manual re-entry between HubSpot and our ERP and finance systems. · Build and maintain integrations and data pipelines between HubSpot and other business systems using native integrations, iPaaS tools, APIs, and scripting where needed. · Establish and enforce data governance: naming standards, required fields, deduplication, validation rules, and documentation so the CRM stays clean as the company scales. · Apply large language models — such as Claude or ChatGPT — to speed up and improve the work, from data cleanup and classification to drafting automation logic and documentation. · Translate business requirements from stakeholders into automation designs, then test, document, and train users on what you build. · Monitor automations in production, troubleshoot failures, and continuously improve process performance and data quality. · Build reports and dashboards that give each team a clear, shared view of the business. · Solving technical challenges and problems within the development process · Working within a Scrum team designing and developing solutions to support our continued business and product initiatives · Self-motivating and self-managing in a rapid development environment · Taking ownership of project components · Assisting internal teams with collaborative testing projects · Ensuring projects align with annual and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) · Promote inquisitiveness within the team · Continuously challenging the status quo We'd love to hear from you if you have: · B.S. degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or related work experience · 2+ years of experience administering, automating, or integrating a CRM platform — HubSpot strongly preferred (Operations Hub experience a significant plus) · Hands-on experience building automated workflows and moving data between business systems (APIs, webhooks, iPaaS tools such as Workato, Zapier, Tray, or similar) · Working knowledge of SQL; scripting experience (Python or JavaScript) a plus · Hands-on experience working with large language models such as Claude or ChatGPT, and a practical sense of where they help and where they don't · Experience partnering with data engineering or data science on data definitions, standardization, and governance a plus · Familiarity with revenue operations concepts — pipeline, lifecycle stages, forecasting, and quote-to-cash · Experience integrating a CRM with an ERP or finance system a plus · Manufacturing or industrial B2B environment experience a plus · Comfortable executing autonomously in the face of ambiguity · Excellent oral presentation skills, organization, and project management skills.
