Job responsibilities include the following: Install, configure, and upgrade PC software and operating systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Provide timely and accurate customer feedback. Support PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software. Perform minor repairs to equipment and arrange for other servicing needs. Record and manage inventory of hardware and software resources. Maintain passwords, data integrity, and file system security for desktop environment. Communicate with suppliers for the repair of equipment under warranty or via service agreements. Provide end-user training and assistance where required. Manage setup and deployment for new employees' workstations, including installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software. Implement company policies, procedures, and standards for IT infrastructure. Document internal procedures and resolutions to common issues. Collaborate with IT team members to enhance system performance and to provide comprehensive support. Ensure the security and privacy of the network and computer systems. Provide on-site and remote support for network connectivity issues. Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS Associate’s degree in computer science, information technology, or relevant field; or equivalent work experience. Proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician or similar role. Familiarity with the latest versions of operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux. Knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners. Experience with remote troubleshooting and resolution techniques. Understanding of networking principles and practices, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software and hardware issues. Knowledge of industry-standard IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, etc.). Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Aptitude for learning new technologies and keeping up to date with industry trends. Physical ability to lift and move computer equipment (approximately 40 lbs.). Excellent customer service orientation and patience. Availability for after-hours on-call rotation for emergency support. Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to information processed, stored, or accessed by the network.
