Karman Space & Defense is a leader in the rapid design, development, and production of critical, next-generation system solutions that align with the U.S. Department of War and its allies’ core mission priorities, and meet the accelerating demand for access to space. Building on nearly 50 years of success, we deliver Payload & Protection Systems, Aero/Hydrodynamic Interstage Systems, and Propulsion & Launch Systems to more than 80 prime contractors supporting over 130 space and defense programs. In this role, you will support the development, testing, and deployment of aerospace and defense mechanical systems across all phases of program execution. Working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, you will help translate concepts into proof‑of‑concept hardware, support prototype fabrication and testing, and contribute to full‑scale system development that advances critical military and aerospace technologies. Responsibilities * Supports project planning and execution for mechanical system development. * Assists in completing client objectives on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with required quality standards. * Supports test planning and execution including procedure development, test design and analysis, data collection, and report generation. * Contributes to business development and project performance activities to support customer needs. * Collaborates with technical staff on proposal development and ongoing project execution. * Engages in hands‑on engineering work in a fast‑paced environment focused on aerospace and defense system development. Required Qualifications * Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience and registration. * Typically 0 to 3 years of aerospace and/or defense experience. * Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals. * Basic understanding of data acquisition systems and instrumentation. * Basic understanding of SolidWorks and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. * Knowledge of military and commercial specifications. * A current U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one. Preferred Qualifications * Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
