Truss designer reads residential and commercial plans to design wood trusses using software for roof, floor and wall truss systems. The designer communicates both verbally and written to members of the team, customers and production staff to ensure the designs are accurate and to the customers specifications. Duties include Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings Design structural components Produce individual plans and final layouts for roof, floor and wall trusses.
