To learn more about our machining and fabricating capabilities: https://youtu.be/8Sjx9uCswbY Job Summary The Fabricator I (Metal) will cut materials to size and shape and weld metal using hand tools and equipment such as band saws, material brakes, and material shears. The role will provide welding support for the garage shop services teams. The Fabricator I (Metal) will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for: Welding instrumentation, exhaust tubes and bosses. Preparing metal surfaces by cleaning with sanding disk and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease and moisture. Operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Keeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs. Participating in daily shop organization and clean up. As a Fabricator, you will need: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum (6) months of relevant fabrication experience. Basic knowledge and ability to Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) or Metal Inert Gas (MIG) weld. Good communication skills and be detail oriented. Knowledge to safely operate and use the Plasma cutter and Oxy-Fuel torch to cut material. Own tools and rolling toolbox. A successful candidate may also have: Certificate in Welding Technology or related Ability to work overtime including weekends as needed.
