What you'll do
- Perform on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of Emerson Flexim products and systems at customer locations
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues using technical documentation, tools, and best practices
- Perform field tests, surveys and upgrades of installed systems
- Provide clear, professional communication to customers regarding findings, solutions, and recommendations
- Complete service documentation accurately and in a timely manner using digital tools and systems
- Provide customer service, application support, and product training to end users, technical sales reps and employees
- Ability to travel with minimal notice
- Follow all safety, quality, and compliance requirements while working independently or with team members
- Collaborate with internal partners such as engineering, sales, and technical support to resolve complex issues
- Communicate and work with the product development team
- Participate in training and continuous learning opportunities to expand technical capabilities and product knowledge
- Write training manuals and technical procedures
- Assist and train newer field service technicians
- Represent Emerson’s values by delivering dependable service and a positive customer experience
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, or maintaining technical equipment in a field or service environment
- At least 5 years of work experience in an Instrument and Controls environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and procedures
- Comfort working independently at customer sites while staying connected to a broader team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as required
- Ability to travel up to 50% across the US with potential for Canada and Mexico
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
- Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for hire.
- Experience with industrial, electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation systems
- Flow measurement experience preferred
- Familiarity with digital service tools, mobile applications, or computerized maintenance systems
- Customer-facing experience in a service or support role
- Technical certifications, vocational training, or military technical experience
- Willingness to expand skills through ongoing training and cross-functional exposure
- Engineering degree preferred
