The Philadelphia Inquirer is the media brand of record in Philadelphia and the region, and the largest news media organization in the state of Pennsylvania. A daily habit for almost 200 years, The Inquirer delivers Pulitzer Prize-winning news, sports, food, and lifestyle journalism multi-platform: Inquirer.com, Inquirer newspaper, e-editions, apps, newsletters, social, video, podcasts, and live events, generating 15M monthly impressions. Locally owned and headquartered in Philadelphia, no media brand is more deeply connected to the city or better understands what drives it. Our influence also extends across key drive markets, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York, as well as to Philadelphia expats who live across the country and root for the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, Flyers, and the Union.
As the Fundraising Coordinator, you will play a key role in keeping The Philadelphia Inquirer's fundraising program organized, on schedule, and on track to reach the goal. The role combines three areas: campaign support, donor stewardship, and events. You will build and manage campaign calendars, set internal deadlines, and track progress against revenue, donor and retention goals, with regular reports on where each campaign stands. You will work closely with the Vice President, Development and colleagues on the Marketing, Finance, and Analytics teams, and with external partners at The Lenfest Institute.
This role will serve as the main point of contact for internal partners on fundraising campaign deliverables and timelines. Your work will also include supporting the development of a robust stewardship program, ensuring every supporter is thanked and informed. The position is an opportunity to help build meaningful programs and events that connect supporters with the impact of their giving, including the launch of new programs like newsroom briefings and signature gatherings. After each event, the role supports coordinated follow-up such as prompt thank-yous, and next steps that turn attendees into lasting supporters.
This is an exciting opportunity to help build lasting support for local journalism during a milestone moment in the Inquirer's history, and to see your work directly strengthen a vital public service.
