About Us
Blackout Dynamics is a Chandler-based firearms manufacturer (Type 07 FFL). We build custom AR-15 rifles in-house, alongside a production machining operation in the same facility. Every rifle is built to a customer-specific build sheet, and we hold ourselves to an exceptionally rigorous standard for fit, finish, and inspection.
The Role
You will assemble custom AR-15 rifles to the exact specifications on each build sheet. No two orders are identical, so this job rewards people who read carefully, verify their work, and don’t assume. If you take pride in a build that is correct down to the last part, torque value, and finish detail, this is the right role.
Responsibilities
Assemble AR-15 rifles to build sheet specifications, including the correct parts, configurations, and colorways for each order
Fit and install components to our quality standards, including torque specifications
Inspect your own work and complete function checks before a rifle moves to final inspection
Identify discrepancies between parts and the build sheet, and stop and flag them rather than work around them
Complete build records accurately and on time
Participate in our nonconformance process: document problems and help find root causes
Keep your workstation clean and organized, and care for tools and gauges
Follow all federal and state firearms laws and company compliance procedures
Qualifications
Required
Exceptional attention to detail and a habit of checking your work against the spec
Ability to read and follow build sheets, work instructions, and specifications
Hands-on mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools and torque tools
Ability to lawfully possess firearms and ammunition under federal and Arizona law, and to pass a background check
Reliable attendance and the ability to work the full schedule
Ability to stand for long periods
Strongly preferred
Completion of, or current enrollment in, an in-person gunsmithing program
Experience building AR-15 rifles
Experience with precision measuring tools (calipers, go/no-go gauges)
Familiarity with ATF recordkeeping requirements
Compensation and Benefits
$23-$28/hour based on experience. Paid sick leave, paid holidays, and an employee rifle program.
