What do Supported Living Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) do?
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for MVAs Supported Living Program, you will empower adults with disabilities to lead their best lives. A day at SLP can look varied, from grocery shopping, and paying bills, to helping someone get in/out of a shower. We work hard to make sure our clients can continue to live in their own homes as independently as possible.
Core Values and Duties
We Are People People!-- Everything you do as a DSP, and a part of the MVA team is in support of others. Being a people person means seeing people as people, not as tasks or trials. All people deserve respect, be it the residents, your coworkers, or families and other partners.
Let's Try This!-- Approaching situations with creativity and a "Let's Try This" mindset means we are innovators!! We invite you to share your ideas! Help make MVA the best it can be, and be open to new ideas.
Be Your Best!-- There are various things we are called to do each week, some we find easier than others. Being your best means bringing the same energy to each task, whatever it may be!
We Got This!-- Supporting people with a "can-do positive attitude" is a team sport at MVA! We are all here to ensure the work gets done and that the people in our care live their BEST lives.
PIVOT!-- Did not see that coming. Not a problem; adjust, adapt and flourish. Every day at MVA is an adventure (and a fun one).
No experience is required for this role. We will teach you everything that you need to know!
