What you'll do

Manage patient intakes, collect and process specimens, record vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations.
Assist physicians during visits and office procedures, perform EKGs and point-of-care testing, and support data entry.

Requires a Medical Assistant Certificate, a High School Diploma, and bilingual English and Spanish.

Job Description: Medical Assistant/Scribe (Urology Practice) Location: Jackson Heights, NY Hours/Days: 4/10 hr shifts; Mon - Thu RDO Fri (7:30a-6:30p) Organization: New York Health (NYH) - Urology In this role, you will: Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording. Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests. Record patients' vital signs. Prepare patients for examinations. Sterilize medical equipment and instruments. Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process. Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures. Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing. Other duties as assigned. We require: A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma Bilingual in English and Spanish Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred) Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
