- New hires must attain certification within 12 months of hire. Failure to attain certification will result in demotion or loss of position.
- Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, electronic medical record, and all laboratory instrumentation used in their area of expertise.
What you need
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in medical technology or a related field, and certification through ASCP, NCA, HEW, or military certification.
- New hires must attain certification within 12 months.
- Education: a bachelor's degree or a professional certificate

Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Position Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist collects, processes, and performs laboratory testing in accordance with laboratory protocols. The position functions as a key operator and trainer for instrumentation in assigned discipline. The position functions as charge person as assigned.
Work Schedule:
3:00PM - 11:30PM
Monday - Friday
Assignment includes weekend and holiday rotation.
Note: Rotation occurs approximately every 4th weekend and 1 - 2 holidays per year.
Required Qualifications:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or field related to area or specialty.
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
American Society of Clinical Pathology or National Certification Agency, HEW or military certification is required.
New hires must attain certification within 12 months of hire. Failure to attain certification will result in demotion or loss of position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
