This role focuses on process control, discipline, and continuous improvement while providing technical expertise to address manufacturing challenges. The position requires a combination of data-driven problem-solving, collaboration across departments, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities Process Management and Improvement: Oversee melting and delivery system processes for production lines Maintain process control and recommend process improvement initiatives Problem-Solving and Analysis: Solve process issues through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with subject matter experts Build an understanding of key process steps using engineering principles Recommend and implement improvements to equipment and processes Technical Expertise: Maintain systems to monitor equipment and process performance Lead and support PEx (Process Excellence) projects, such as cost reduction, process optimization, and technology migration Documentation and Training: Develop and update engineering and operations documentation, as needed, to maintain ISO compliance Provide training for the operations workforce regarding process or equipment changes Collaboration and Safety: Collaborate with other teams and departments to meet or exceed manufacturing goals Actively engage in plant safety initiatives to ensure a safe working environment Work Schedule Standard schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Experiences/Education - Required Pursuing BS or MS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred) Required Skills Strong scientific and engineering skills for fundamental understanding, including broad knowledge of engineering principles (Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Material Science) Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly Proficiency in data analysis and interpreting results Experience with experimental design and applying engineering principles Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment Results-oriented with a focus on problem-solving and performance improvement Desired Skills Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI) Basic statistical knowledge Understanding of manufacturing systems/operations Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques AI fluency Soft Skills High personal drive, initiative, and commitment to excellence Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills Effective relationship-building and teamwork skills across functions Positive attitude, flexibility, and a strong work ethic Excellent communication and presentation skills   This position does not support immigration sponsorship. ​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.   A job that shapes a life.     We prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, gender, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, veteran status or any other legally protected status.   Corning is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and considers requests for reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable laws.
