You will work in a highly regulated, precision manufacturing environment where safety, documentation integrity, dimensional control (“True Diameter”) and traceability are paramount. POSITION SUMMARY Perform assigned nondestructive testing (NDT) utilizing ultrasonic testing (UT) techniques. Support product quality by preparing parts, operating inspection equipment within established qualifications, accurately recording results and promptly reporting indications or process irregularities. Works under the technical guidance required by NDT program.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform assigned NDT operations only within the methods, techniques and cope for which trained, qualified and authorized. * Follow approved inspection instructions, work orders, drawings, and applicable customer requirements. * Conduct system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standard. * Process parts, document results and perform equipment standardization in accordance with approved work instructions. * Prepare, clean, identify and handle parts before and after inspection while maintaining product identification and traceability. * May perform interpretations and evaluations of specific products, or product forms for acceptance or rejection in accordance with approved work instructions when specified in written practice and approved. * Verify * Record inspection activities, process parameters and test results accurately in required quality records. * Identify and report indications, unusual results and suspected non-conformances to designated level II or level III personnel. * Perform visual and dimensional inspection of various materials and products including welds. * May follow work instructions for approved procedures. * Prepares and generates reports and/or documentation outlining findings and conclusions. * Evaluate test and inspection results against designated standards. * May participate in customer and/or quality audits. * Ensures instruments and tools are maintained and calibrated according to schedule. * Maintain clean and orderly work environment. * Maintain required training, experience, qualification and certification records. * Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback. * Other duties as assigned, requested or needed. POSITION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: * High school diploma or General Education Development (GED). * Relevant and documented training and/or experience sufficient to meet level I qualification requirements for NDT method. * Prior experience and ultrasonic testing preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection methods. * Knowledge of and ability to use nondestructive testing methods including ultrasonic testing techniques. * Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). * Ability to understand and follow standard operating and safety procedures. * Attention to detail and ability to communicate inspection concerns promptly. * Read and comprehend verbal and written instructions. * Basic mathematics, measurement and computer skills. * Ability to measure and read dimensional tolerance tools and equipment. * Ability to view details in close range. * Ability to meet applicable method-specific vision requirements.
