Position Title : Network & System Administrator Location : University of Jamestown, Jamestown, North Dakota Employment Type : Full-time, 12-month staff position with benefits Application Deadline : Open until filled FLSA Status : Exempt The University of Jamestown is seeking applicants for a Network/System Administrator working out of the main Information Technology offices located in Jamestown, North Dakota. This position supports academic, administrative, and residential technology across the campus network. The Network and Systems Administrator keeps wired and wireless services, servers, storage, and core applications available and reliable for students, faculty and staff, and partners with the help desk and other IT staff on projects and elevated support. Key Responsibilities Maintenance, support, and performance monitoring of network equipment and servers Manage the VMware cluster Monitoring and support of network services ( DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc…) Maintenance of users and groups within Windows Active Directory and M365 Edge and internal security for network (Router, firewall, permissions) Exchange and Office365 support Documentation of changes made to the system Manage UJ’s Cybersecurity Awareness Program Backups of systems Faculty/staff support as needed Qualifications/Skills Required : Bachelor’s degree and/or competitive experience Great communication and interpersonal skills Understanding of Windows Server 2012R2 or newer Understanding of network protocols Knowledge of methodology of network and PC Troubleshooting Scripting knowledge a plus Understanding configuration for Extreme Network switches, SonicWALL routers, and Aruba Wireless networks a plus What We Offer • Competitive salary. • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition reimbursement. • Opportunity to lead and grow a program with strong institutional support. • A supportive, mission-driven campus community.
