The Opportunity As an Obituary Notice Specialist, you will play an important role in helping individuals and businesses place accurate and timely notices for publication. You will assist customers with placing death notices, legal notices, and announcements while providing compassionate and knowledgeable support throughout the submission, proofreading, and placement process. You will work with customers across a range of publication services, including: Death/Obituary Notices Legal Notices Announcements Assistance with Online Self-Service Notice Submissions Other notice placement and publication requests What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is an articulate and compassionate communicator who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with customers and technology. Requirements: Excellent communication skills while handling incoming telephone calls and customer requests received by email. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines. Strong spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to quickly learn new systems, software, email programs, and client order systems. Ability to proofread, process, and place notices accurately in accordance with publication standards, applicable requirements, and deadlines. Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team Resourceful, dependable, and motivated. Previous call center, customer service, or newspaper industry experience is preferred. Weekend and holiday availability may be required. Above all, you should be a team player who is collaborative, resourceful, and eager to learn. Compensation and Benefits At Media Sales Plus we embrace rewarding your efforts and accomplishments through a combination of base compensation and an incentive plan that rewards accuracy, performance, and productivity. To start, we are offering the following compensation and benefit package to qualified candidates: Average earnings for this role are $19–$21 per hour, including incentives. Base pay ranges from $16.50–$17.00 per hour, plus an incentive plan that rewards your accuracy, performance, and productivity.
