"This work is so liberating: to be employed in an organization wherein we have the ultimate freedom to use true principles of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in our work each day. Having access to all truth and applying it in our daily performance is the most liberating thing I know. This truly is the work of the kingdom of God."
—Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

The intern will own end-to-end product projects, including user research, defining success metrics, and launching improvements for analytics tools.
They will also provide daily user support, manage backlogs, and create training materials for field personnel.
What you need
Candidates must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Information Systems, Business, Data Analytics, or Communications.
Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a service-oriented mindset are required, along with membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
As a Product Management Intern with Seminaries & Institutes, you'll work side by
side with an experienced Product Manager and the S&I analytics team to solve
real product problems for the analytics tools that guide religious education
worldwide.
S&I serves youth and young adults around the world through seminary and
institute classes. Leaders and field personnel rely on our Power BI products to
understand enrollment, attendance, and student outcomes, and to decide where to
focus their efforts. Our portfolio includes the Executive Dashboard, Program
Dashboard, CES Dashboard, Succeed in School, the Data Leader Initiative, and
What's Next for Seniors.
This is not shadowing or busywork. You'll own real responsibilities from day one
and lead a meaningful project end to end: talking with users, defining success
metrics, writing requirements, testing, and launching improvements that change
how leaders use data to bless students. You'll learn modern product management
practices, including how to put AI to work, in a mission-driven environment.
HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME
Your work falls into three areas, so you get both the predictability of daily
ownership and the growth of a project that's yours.
1. Responsibilities you own. Recurring work that is yours every day, such as
answering field support requests, tracking feedback and enhancement
requests, and keeping FAQs and user guides current.
2. Ad hoc requests. Varied assignments that come up as the products grow:
building a quick prototype, working with a user through an issue, writing a
help article, or preparing a demo.
3. An end-to-end project. A project you own from discovery to launch, with
guidance at every step. Example projects:
* Design and launch a training and onboarding program for a new dashboard.
* Build an adoption report that shows who uses our products and where
engagement lags, then recommend improvements.
* Prototype an AI-assisted support tool that answers common field questions
about reports and metrics.
You'll finish with tangible, finished work to show on your resume and in
interviews.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Training and enablement
* Create training materials, user guides, onboarding resources, and release
communications.
* Support training sessions, product demonstrations, and office hours.
* Help field users understand reports, navigate new features, and interpret
metrics.
User support and discovery
* Serve as a first point of contact for field questions, feedback, and support
requests.
* Interview users and gather feedback to understand their needs and pain
points.
* Write clear business requirements and user stories from what you learn.
* Track enhancement requests, reported issues, and frequently asked questions.
Product delivery
* Help manage and prioritize the backlog and coordinate with stakeholders.
* Test new features and help prepare releases for launch.
* Monitor product adoption, define success metrics, and recommend ways to
improve engagement.
AI in product work
* Use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot daily to draft documentation,
summarize user feedback, and analyze trends in support requests.
* Explore AI features in Power BI, such as Copilot and natural-language Q&A,
and evaluate how they could help field users.
* Help prototype AI-assisted experiences, such as a support assistant for
common report questions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
* Currently enrolled in school, or enrolled within the past 12 months.
* Studying Information Systems, Business, Data Analytics, Communications, or a
related field.
* Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain
technical topics to non-technical users.
* Strong organization and follow-through when managing multiple requests and
deadlines.
* Curiosity about data and comfort learning new tools quickly.
* A service-oriented approach to supporting users.
Preferred
* Interest in a product management career.
* Familiarity with Power BI or other reporting and dashboard tools.
* Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) for
writing, research, or analysis.
* Experience creating training content, documentation, or how-to guides.
* Exposure to agile practices or backlog tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira,
Microsoft Planner).
* Experience with software testing or quality assurance.
* Familiarity with Seminaries & Institutes programs.
WHAT YOU'LL GAIN
* A finished project on your resume. You'll lead a real product initiative from
discovery to launch and leave with results you can point to.
* Practical AI experience. You'll use AI tools daily in real product work and
help explore how AI can improve analytics and user support, skills employers
are actively looking for.
* Product management fundamentals. User research, requirements, prioritization,
success metrics, testing, and release management.
* Power BI and data storytelling skills on dashboards used by S&I leaders
worldwide.
* Mentorship and exposure. Daily work with a Product Manager and regular
interaction with senior stakeholders.
* Mission-driven impact. Your work helps leaders use data to strengthen
students' faith and education.
