  JOB TITLE:       QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN I                                                             PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:  Assess product quality per specifications and workmanship standards, using a variety of inspection tools and techniques. Maintain and organize quality documentation.   PERFORMANCE BEHAVIOR REQUIREMENTS: The following list of performance behaviors necessary to meet the minimum requirements:    CORE VALUES: The following list of Core Values and Behaviors are necessary to meet the minimum requirements:    TEAMWORK * Help each other succeed * Communicate clearly and directly, listen well * Encourage team mates * Blameless problem solving HONESTY AND INTEGRITY * Honor your commitments * Do the right thing * Consistent in your attitudes and actions LEAN * Improve processes * Open to new ideas * Share information, and teach * Expose issues  NUMBERS FOCUSED * Deliver results * Analyze data for improvement * Take ownership and accountability * Work smarter, not harder EXCELLENCE * Exhibit passion in serving customers * Contribute solutions * Sense of urgency * Be the best at what you do * Seek knowledge FUN * Be positive * Celebrate achievements * Don’t take yourself too seriously  CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES: ESSENTIAL * Perform Q.A. inspections including first article, in process, receiving, roving and final as needed, keeping internal customer service a priority * Complete inspection reports and other documentation as required by customers and internal procedures * Review and process shop routers * Identify opportunities for improvement in floor inspection activities * Keep records updated, accurate and organized * Maintain the responsibilities of the ISO 9001 system in accordance with the requirements defined in the Quality Manual, and Procedure Level documentation  * Participate actively and positively in Lean activities   NON-ESSENTIAL * Keep work area clean and organized * Other duties as assigned   REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Manager   WORKS WITH: Customers, suppliers, and B&J team members   SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Follow all OSHA safety regulations and those set by B&J Industries   REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Essential * Minimum one year inspection experience in a precision sheet metal and/or machining environment * Good math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals * Good ability to read and interpret blueprints * Good computer skills including Word and Excel * Good communications skills, verbal and written * Strong ability to use a wide variety of precision measuring devices * Strong attention to detail   BENEFICIAL * High school graduate with some college preferred (emphasis in engineering, math or related field) * Additional math skills in algebra, geometry and trigonometry * Good flat pattern layout ability * Knowledge of ISO requirements * Experience in precision sheet metal production work * Knowledge of machining processes and inspection * Computer skilled in the use of CAD systems, Word and Excel, Solid Works   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Sit 20%, Stand 20%, Walk 20%, Bend 10%, Squat 5%, Lift 5%, Twist 5%, Kneel 5%, Reach Above Shoulder 5%, Climb 5%. Maximum (minutes): Sit 30, Stand 240, Walk 20, Bend 20, Squat 15, Lift 5, Twist 30, Kneel 10, Reach Above Shoulder 5, Climb 5.   Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.  Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).   Working Environment:  Shop environment.  Moderate noise level.  Exposure to dust, heat and cold.   This position will require drug testing per company policy.  Monday through Thursday 3:00pm to 1:30am - On call Fridays (OT)
