At Blue Nile, the Quality Control Inspector will be working on identifying the condition of diamonds and jewelry pieces. Responsible for assisting the team to achieve company goals and deadlines. The position entails managing time effectively among daily responsibilities and production goals. Quality Control Inspectors are required to have a knowledge of diamonds, gemstones and/or jewelry. This individual needs to have excellent time-management skills and be able to multi-task while staying organized. Responsibilities: Inspection of fine goods such as diamonds, gemstones, finished jewelry. Documenting inspection results and entering gemological data onto company database Documenting inspection results and entering gemological data onto company database Maintain tracking databases of all incoming and outgoing purchase orders Performs additional duties and projects as assigned. Consistent regular scheduled attendance is considered an essential function of this job. Requirements: Responsible for performing inspection function ensuring all merchandise is in compliance with R2Net quality standards and legal requirements including functionality, stone setting, finish, hallmarking and trademarking. Report all critical fails to management. Responsible for inspection of loose diamonds and colored gemstones for quality, authentication, and verification of all gemological documentation or electronic certificate. Report all critical fails to management. Responsible for the accuracy of all new customer orders processed and the timely completion of the inspection. Responsible for systematic movement of customer orders from QC admin receiving location to inspection workstation. Responsible for the processing of returns including the evaluation of the merchandise for quality and adherence to the terms of the return policy. Support QC operations for processing reverse logistics orders as needed. Responsible for opening and closing activities for QC areas. Responsible for completion of all daily work including current date orders and hard deadlines within area of responsibility. Maintain accurate records of quality control activities and inspection results. The hourly pay range for this job is $20.00 - 25.00.
