Boom Supersonic is building the Overture supersonic airliner and the Superpower gas turbine — machines that require some of the most demanding manufacturing in modern industry. That only works if every part that goes into them is exactly what the drawing says it is. As a Receiving Inspector, you are the first line of defense — the person who verifies that what arrives is what we ordered, what we need. Not a dock jobThis is a hands-on inspection role. You'll measure parts, read drawings, review certs, and make accept, reject, or quarantine calls on real flight and turbine hardware. The decisions you make protect safety and keep the build line moving. You'll also be doing it in a company that is still building its quality system. Your eye for what's missing, unclear, or wrong helps shape the process. What you'll doInspect incoming raw material, fasteners, machined parts, composites, electrical components, and assemblies against drawings, specs, and purchase ordersUse calibrated measurement tools — calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin and thread gauges, and CMM where applicable — to verify dimensional and visual requirementsReview supplier documentation, including certificates of conformance, material certs, and test reports, for accuracy and completenessRe-verify parts returning from outside processing like heat treat and coating, and reconnect them to their traceability recordDocument, tag, and quarantine nonconforming material, and initiate nonconformance reportsSupport Material Review Board activities with clear inspection dataMaintain lot, heat, and serial traceability, and handle ESD-sensitive and controlled items properlyWork with Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve issues quicklyKeep the inspection area organized and follow all safety and FOD-control practicesThis job is demandingYou'll be asked to hold the line when something is late and someone needs the part. You'll need to say no clearly, back it up with data, and help find the path forward. That takes technical skill, judgment, and the confidence to be the person who stops the line when something isn't right. You probably haveInspection experience in aerospace, defense, or another regulated precision-manufacturing environmentProficiency with precision measuring equipmentThe ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&TFamiliarity with AS9100 or similar quality system requirementsStrong attention to detail and clear written and verbal communicationThe ability to lift 50 lbs and stay on your feet for extended periodsCMM or advanced metrology experience, AS9102 first article knowledge, ERP/QMS experience, and counterfeit-parts awareness are all a plusWhy BoomBoom is building one of the most ambitious industrial programs of this century.
