What you'll do

Provide comprehensive, family centered nursing care to mothers and neonates
Care for women and neonates during labor and childbirth
Assist, support, and educate families throughout the birth process
Recognize complications and act quickly to stabilize the situation
Communicate with the patient, family, and appropriate physicians and specialists

What you need

Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
RN license active in the state of Missouri
BLS must be obtained within 90 days
ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire
Must obtain NRP within one year of hire
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred)
Previous nursing experience (preferred)

They are responsible for assisting, supporting, and educating families throughout the birth process. The Labor and Delivery nurse provides comprehensive, family centered nursing care to mothers and neonates during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages of delivery. The Labor and Delivery nurse must be able to recognize complications and act quickly to stabilize the situation and communicate with the patient, family, and appropriate physicians and specialists. Education ▪ Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program ▪ Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing ◦ Experience ▪ Preferred: Previous nursing experience ◦ Skills ▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills ▪ Demonstrate effective leadership abilities ▪ Exhibits valuable time management skills ▪ Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills. ▪ Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment. ◦ Licensure/Certification/Registration ▪ Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri ▪ Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days ▪ Required: ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire ▪ Required: Must obtain NRP within one year of hire
