Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Telemetry Float Pool to join the team.  Inova is consistently ranked a national healthcare leader in safety, quality and patient experience. We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation.  Featured Benefits: * Committed to Team Member Health: offering medical, dental, and vision coverage and a robust team member wellness program. * Retirement: Inova matches the first 5% of eligible contributions – starting on your first day. * Tuition and Student Loan Assistance: offering up to $5,250 per year in education assistance and up to $10,000 for student loans. * Mental Health Support: offering all Inova team members, their spouses/partners, and their children 25 mental health coaching or therapy sessions, per person, per year, at no cost. * Work/Life Balance: offering paid time off, paid parental leave   Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool Job Responsibilities: * Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships * Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice * Supports and empowers patient/families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions * Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective while providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issues * Anticipates ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients and intervenes to maximize patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning * Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation * Evaluates the outcomes of documentation and contributes to related performance improvement initiatives * Collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and leads other disciplines to meet desired outcomes * Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members * Demonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintains own Team Member Continuing Education Records   Minimum Qualifications: * Certification: Basic Life Support; If Critical Care unit, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support upon start; If Pediatric unit, Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire * Licensure:  Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license * Experience:  1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse; if Critical Care Unit, minimum 1 year clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship * Education:  Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree; If RN has an Associate's Degree, within 2 years of date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend, 2) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date, 3) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses, and 4) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date.   Preferred Qualification:  * 2+ years of recent Medical Surgical, Telemetry, IMCU or PCU experience preferred We are Inova, Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
