Your Future Team We are seeking a successful Staff Accountant who is a multi-tasker at heart, with strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset that thrives in a fast-paced and evolving organization. This individual will be within a team of three and reporting directly to the Revenue Manager. This high performing group is a sub-team within the larger Controllership function that has over twenty individuals and is part of the larger finance departments organization. Our ideal candidate is coachable, has the willingness to learn, and consistently performs at a high level under variable workloads within the expense team. What You’ll Do Prepare detailed monthly bank reconciliations in Oracle Monitor and analyze accounts receivable by maintaining a close relationship with the billing team and advisor community Prepare general ledger entries related to cash and revenue Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations Review and analyze monthly P&Ls for advisor businesses for accuracy, providing variance explanations where applicable Review and resolve financial-related inquiries specific to your responsibilities Collaborate with internal operations and third-party providers on timing and support of deliverables Support with annual financial audit where needed Create and foster collaborative, team-oriented relationships What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience 1-3+ years of experience Qualities: Strong technical and analytical skills, time management and multi-tasking ability, detail-oriented, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work with a team Proficiencies: Required - Excel (specifically VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Data Sorting) Preferred – Oracle Cloud, Smart View What We Offer Coverage on the first day of employment for medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid parental leave (16 weeks for primary caregiver and 8 weeks for secondary caregiver) Mother’s lounge onsite Flexible PTO plan In-office Monday through Thursday and work from home on Fridays Free brand-new gym in the Chicago office 401k matching plan HSA employer contributions Student loan assistance Pet insurance Base salary of $70,000-$75,000 plus discretionary bonus (exact base salary amount will be dependent on experience) AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER: Hightower is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based upon race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy, marital status, national origin, citizenship, veteran status, ancestry, age (over 40), physical or mental disability, medical condition (cancer-related), gender identity or expression, genetic information including sickle cell or hemoglobin C trait, or any other consideration made unlawful by applicable federal, state, or local law.
