Description Summer Analysts will be primarily focused on underwriting and evaluating multifamily development and acquisitions through joint venture, preferred equity, and direct acquisition structures. Over the course of the program, interns will underwrite live development and acquisition opportunities, shadow an investment closing, support asset management processes, participate in weekly pipeline calls and deal reviews, and complete a capstone project. This is a 9-week summer internship anticipated to begin on or around June 2nd and conclude on July 29th. Interns will receive time off in observance of the July 4th holiday. Primary Roles & Responsibilities Underwriting/Analysis/Reporting: Assist with the underwriting and evaluation of live Parse Capital investments in existing assets and ground-up developments, including assessing historical and projected financial performance Collaborate with internal analyst team(s) on market development initiatives including reviewing new markets, analyzing supply/demand fundamentals, and completing other projects as needed Utilize 3rd party data sources to produce and define rent, sales, and land comp surveys for potential investments Shadow Parse Capital’s Execution team throughout a live investment closing process. Support team analyzing sponsor/guarantor financials, preparing deal closing documentation, and investment committee materials Support Parse Capital’s Asset Management team reviewing construction/operating reports, conducting hold/ sell analyses, and making financing decisions Compile development pipeline data for target markets and conduct ad-hoc market analysis as needed Work with senior leadership to evaluate investment pipeline, conduct internal deal reviews, and manage third party communications Special Projects / Other: Completion of real estate-oriented Excel training course before the internship begins Cross-functional presentations from business units across Parse Capital & The Wolff Company including development, capital markets, portfolio management, and tax Lunch and learn speaker series featuring external partners such as sponsors, Parse investors, brokers, and attorneys Assist with internal data management and organization Recurring meetings with dedicated summer-long mentor(s) Capstone Project During the final two weeks of the internship, interns will be responsible for underwriting and evaluating an investment opportunity (either Joint Venture, Preferred Equity, or Direct Acquisition) Scope of work will include preparing an underwriting model and IC Memo, including a market summary, sponsorship/general contractor evaluation, and merits & risks assessment All information will be presented during the final week of the internship to Investment Committee (including executive leadership) Requirements Business degree, preferably Finance, Economics, or Real Estate At the time of internship, the ideal candidate will be a rising senior or entering the final year of a graduate Master of Real Estate program Strong analytical capabilities Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills Detail-oriented and self-motivated Ability to interact with internal and external parties professionally in a fast paced, high-energy environment Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a member of a team Comfortable with MS Excel basics Why Join Us?
