CAD Engineer
Pay Range: $61,000 - $75,000/year
Position Summary
As a LINX Multimedia CAD Engineer, you produce and maintain the AV shop drawings that turn design intent into buildable documentation. You work under the direction of Project Engineers, supporting projects rather than owning them, and build the technical and product knowledge that puts you on the path to the Project Engineer track.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and revise AV shop drawings (floor plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, one-line diagrams) that accurately reflect PE-defined design intent
* Pivot drawings when design intent changes, and surface conflicts between intent and the as-drawn condition
* Maintain LINX standards for CAD and drafting documents; follow established standards and flag gaps that cause friction
* Maintain red lines and as-builts in Bluebeam Studio
* Track progress on assigned drawings and communicate blockers before they slip the schedule
* Build product and system knowledge progressively; pursue AVIXA and manufacturer certifications
* Participate in cross-functional efforts and learn how Engineering, Production, Programming, and Field depend on one another

Qualifications
Required
* No degree required; entry-level candidates with strong CAD/drafting aptitude are encouraged to apply
* Proficiency with AutoCAD and core CAD/drafting tools; intermediate computer modeling skills
* Ability to read construction drawings
* Basic understanding of AV system signal flow
* Experience creating markups in Bluebeam
* Detail-oriented; takes direction and feedback well and acts on it
Preferred
* AVIXA CTS (held, in progress, or a willingness to pursue)
* Prior exposure to professional AV or a construction-related field
* Progress toward manufacturer certifications (e.g., Crestron, QSC, Biamp)
