Community Support Specialist – Part-Time $17.00–$21.00 per hour | 20–25 hours per week Join the Mary T team and help individuals with disabilities build confidence, develop life skills, and maintain independence in their homes and communities! As a Community Support Specialist (CSS), you'll work one-on-one with adults with disabilities, providing personalized support based on their goals, abilities, and preferences. Your role focuses on teaching, coaching, and working alongside individuals to develop and maintain everyday life skills, while also providing hands-on assistance and additional support when needed based on each person's abilities, preferences, and individual needs. Support may include: Developing daily living skills such as cooking, shopping, and household management. Supporting budgeting, banking, and money management. Encouraging community participation, hobbies, and recreational activities. Assisting with health and wellness routines, organization, and everyday problem-solving. Helping individuals build confidence, make choices, and advocate for themselves. This is a community-based position, not a residential group home position. You'll work independently with individuals while being part of a supportive team of coordinators, supervisors, and fellow staff. Important Things to Know Driving is required: You must use your own reliable, insured vehicle to travel within an approximately 30-mile service radius and transport individuals as part of their services. Documentation is required: Accurate and timely electronic service notes and visit verification (EVV) must be completed for each visit using a smartphone app. Flexible scheduling: Visits vary based on individual needs, but staff typically maintain consistent weekly schedules with the people they support. Requirements Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, current auto insurance, and reliable personal vehicle. Willingness to drive within a 30-mile service radius and transport individuals. Ability to pass a Minnesota DHS background study and motor vehicle record check. Basic computer and smartphone skills for electronic documentation and EVV. Strong communication, reading, and writing skills to follow support plans and document services accurately. Ability to work independently, maintain professional boundaries, and collaborate with a team. One year of relevant experience preferred but not required. About Mary T Inc.
