Schedule for shifts will change based on needs of programs, however schedules are given two weeks in advance (no on-call responsibilities). This position requires a dependable candidate who is flexible in their schedule, works well independently, and has exceptional communication and decision-making skills. Float DSPs are adaptable and will have the necessary skill set to be able to work at multiple homes. What You Get to Do: Enrich and support the lives of our residents in the supported living program while maintaining a safe and healthy environment Provide companionship and personalized care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care. Assist patients with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating. Prepare meals and snacks. Perform housekeeping and laundry duties Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices. Assist with transportation needs for community outings, appointments, and errands Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed. Other duties as assigned Qualifications What Makes You a Great Fit: 1+ years of DSP/Caregiving experience is required. Experience in residential setting and with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is strongly preferred. Must have valid driver's license & vehicle to travel between programs and provide transportation to clients Must be able to work a flexible schedule (open availability and weekends is required) Must be able and willing to learn different supports, from medical to behavioral Must be at least 18 years old Must be able to provide references Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training Have a passion to help others through person-centered care People-oriented and have a team approach Dependable, adaptable, and flexible Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
