Our Field Service Engineer I role emphasizes customer satisfaction, technical troubleshooting skills, and collaborative teamwork in daily operations with other Field Service Engineers. A successful Field Service Engineer I at IMS Nanofabrication displays strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, alongside a deep understanding of the impact of quickly diagnosing and addressing problems in the customer environment. They have a strong desire to master both the technical attributes of our Multi-Beam Mask Writers - some of the most advanced semiconductor lithography equipment in the world - and the people skills required to excel in front of our critical customers. This role requires an in-person presence in our Santa Clara, CA office with a daily presence at our customer site(s), strongly aligning with our US headquarters and other US entity locations in Hillsboro, OR and Boise, ID and our global R&D and Operations team in Austria. This non-exempt role reports directly to the team lead engineer in charge at IMS America. You're Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will: Grow with a Premier Team: Be part of a growing team of professional Field Service Engineers in Santa Clara, CA Master Cutting-Edge Tech: Internally align on and perform the activities related to the installation, annual preventive maintenance, and issue resolution of a growing fleet of multi-beam mask writers. Drive Procedural Excellence: Ensure that IMS-defined methodologies and procedures are uniformly followed, and provide critical feedback to Headquarters regarding improvements, gaps, or necessary changes. Solve High-Stakes Puzzles: Take part in special task force teams that handle customer escalations and challenging incidents, maintaining professional and regular communication with customer and headquarters functions. Keep Leadership Aligned: Ensure seamless and transparent communication of all status updates to IMS US leadership. Manage Customer Relationships: Maintain and build excellent customer relationships with local Tool Owners and other critical customer stakeholders. Represent IMS in the Fab: Attend fab-related customer meetings to update the team's ongoing and planned issue resolution, installation, and Annual Preventive Maintenance activities. We're Excited About You Because: We are actively seeking candidates who fit into the following foundational profile: Profile: Recent College Graduate You hold a Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Chemical), Physics, or a related STEM field. You exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and are eager to bridge theoretical engineering concepts with hands-on machinery troubleshooting. Core Requirements & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a genuine enjoyment of being part of and integrating with a global, fast-paced team. Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting technical updates in high-visibility customer environments. 1+ years of technical field service or hands-on operational system experience, preferably but not required. Qualifications We're Elated About You Because (Preferred but not Required): You have an understanding of eBeam sources, metrology or semiconductor lithography equipment. You have an understanding of ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems and high-voltage electronics. You have some experience or understanding of Linux/UNIX server system administration. Base Salary Range: The target base salary range for this non-exempt position is $75,000 - $93,000/yr. and is part of a competitive total rewards package including an annual bonus, employer-paid benefits, 401K with generous company match, and incentive pay for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by several factors, including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
