Description

About the Role Join an early-stage team building wearable AI for industrial field work. You will own core parts of the multimodal AI stack, from production vision-language model pipelines to real-time assistance on smart glasses, helping technicians carry out complex workflows. What You'll Do Build and ship multi-step, tool-using vision-language model pipelines for real industrial workflows. Develop evaluation systems, capture failure cases, and use production data to improve model quality over time. Adapt model orchestration and inference to variable connectivity, latency, and hardware constraints. Create real-time voice and video interfaces, including conversational and proactive assistance. Fine-tune and optimize open-weight multimodal models for enterprise and on-premise deployment. What We're Looking For 0 to 3 years of experience shipping production vision-language or multimodal AI systems, using Python and PyTorch. Experience owning model and orchestration layers, including visual reasoning, tool-use agent loops, evaluation design, and applied fine-tuning such as SFT or RLHF. Strong applied computer vision experience and interest in wearables, industrial AI, or related real-world applications. Experience at a startup or in a high-ownership engineering environment, or equivalent evidence of building and delivering production systems. A degree in computer science, machine learning, engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with edge or on-premise inference is valuable, including tools such as vLLM, Triton, TensorRT, ONNX, or model quantization. Compensation & Benefits Salary is $180,000 to $230,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available. Location On-site in San Francisco, United States.
