What you'll do
- Retirement: Inova matches the first 5% of eligible contributions – starting on your first day.
- Mental Health Support: offering all Inova team members, their spouses/partners, and their children 25 mental health coaching or therapy sessions, per person, per year, at no cost.
- Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.
- Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.
- Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
- Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.
- Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines – adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (OT)
- Licensure: Virginia license in Occupational Therapy upon start
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon start
- 1 year of Occupational Therapist (OT) experience

Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our acute care team. This is role is PRN/as needed with at least 2 weekend days/month, 1 major and 1 minor holiday.
