Patient Care Assistant (PCA) — Driving & Mobile Imaging Support
Heritage Imaging is seeking a compassionate, customer-focused Patient Care Associate (PCA) to support Nuclear Medicine operations while ensuring an exceptional patient experience. In this role, you will work closely with technologists, patients, physicians, and healthcare facilities to facilitate a safe, efficient, and patient-centered imaging environment.
This PCA position comes with a little extra adventure!! As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) with Heritage Imaging, you’ll do more than support patients—you’ll also be responsible for driving a large mobile imaging truck between Colfax, Washington, and Libby, Montana while supporting the imaging team and helping provide a smooth experience for every patient.

About the Role: We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Driver & Patient Care Assistant to support our mobile imaging operations. This role combines safe operation of a large mobile imaging vehicle with hands-on patient care and facility support. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, service-oriented, and comfortable working independently at healthcare facilities.
What You'll Do
Driver:
Safely operate a large box truck and mobile imaging unit over extended distances.
Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and documentation.
Maintain familiarity with all vehicle controls, safety systems, warning lights, and air brake operations.
Perform and document air brake checks before travel.
Set up and tear down the mobile Nuclear Medicine unit at customer sites.
Safely operate patient lift equipment.
Follow all procedures for reporting vehicle incidents, accidents, and safety concerns.
Patient Care & Customer Service:
Greet and assist patients and their families throughout their imaging appointment.
Explain imaging procedures, answer questions, and provide support before, during, and after exams.
Assess patient needs, including mobility, anxiety, and special accommodations.
Maintain communication with patients throughout procedures to ensure comfort and safety.
Assist claustrophobic or anxious patients using established patient care techniques.
Provide post-exam instructions and explain follow-up processes.
Imaging & Facility Support:
Assist with patient positioning and transport.
Support Nuclear Medicine workflows under the direction of imaging technologists.
Complete patient check-in processes, including screening and documentation.
Help maintain mobile imaging unit readiness and operational organization.
Follow site-specific procedures and safety protocols.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety, HIPAA, and radiation safety standards.
Assist with emergency procedures and patient safety processes.
Serve as the company representative and primary point of contact when working independently at a site.
Follow company policies, facility requirements, and radiation safety guidelines.
Location: Pullman, WA ; Colfax, WA ; Libby, MT
Status: Full-time
Schedule: Wednesdays - Saturday
Pay Range: $30-35
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Driver's License
Previous experience driving large box trucks and/or semi trucks preferred.
BLS certification.
1 year of MA experience preferred.
Experience in healthcare, patient care, medical office, or customer service environments preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology or diagnostic imaging processes.
Experience working with MRI, PET/CT, radiology, or related healthcare services is a plus.
