PPCCC is a trusted provider of high-quality, affordable reproductive health care along California’s Central Coast. Each year, PPCCC provides 28,000 people on the central coast with health care services; including sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, birth control, breast and cervical cancer screenings, vasectomies, and safe and legal abortion care at our six health center locations. PPCCC also provides comprehensive sexuality education programs to help adults and teens make healthy decisions, prevent unintended pregnancies, and avoid sexually transmitted infection. JOB SUMMARY: The Philanthropy Associate will provide support to all fundraising operations, development operations and donor relations. Primary focus on gift processing, donor acknowledgment, data base queries, reports, major donor support and special events. The Philanthropy Associate will manage the function of prospect/donor research. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist in gift processing and donor acknowledgment and maintenance of donor records. Assist Director of Philanthropic Operations on Raiser’s Edge projects. Provide operational assistance for special events, including registering and maintaining guest lists, confirming attendance, responding to phone calls and requests for information and other duties as assigned for fund-raising events. These events include but not limited to, the Babette’s Feast, the Book Sale, the Birds and Bees Bash, Choice Affairs and Politics, Sex & Cocktails. Manage donor and prospect research function including analytics and reports. Manage returned mail; research new addresses and phone numbers for donors; Maintain inventory of letterhead and other materials. Provide administrative and organizational support for department fundraising programs such as grants, major gifts, and direct mail. Maintain confidentiality regarding donor information. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong organizational skills Strong verbal, written and presentation skills Strong PC skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and internet research. Raiser’s Edge experiences a plus. Excellent communication and listening skills Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team Strong project management skills Ability to interact with donors, volunteers and the general public in a positive manner Ability to work with volunteers Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Travel is required Strong commitment to the PPCCC mission, goals and policies. CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES: Exceptional interpersonal skills and professional ethics, including the ability to create personal relationships and communicate effectively delivering exceptional customer service to a variety of stakeholders. Provide professional high-quality customer service in all donor, funder, volunteer and vendor relationship Friendly and professional interactions and communications Provide accurate information and ensure follow through/follow up in a timely manner EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BA or HS Diploma plus equivalent experience Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in non-profit fundraising activities and direct mail projects is a plus, but not required ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work in a busy environment, under pressure without compromising accuracy, attention to detail and courtesy to volunteers, donors and staff. Ability to respond appropriately to changing situations Self-motivated Donor cultivation and stewardship experience. Willing to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and evenings when necessary Must have excellent customer service skills and be committed to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction to both internal and external customers Ability to read and analyze information Ability to research and gather information Ability to organize large amounts of data/information into reports/presentations that all levels of staff can understand Candidate must be able to travel throughout PPCCC geographic area \n \n Planned Parenthood California Central Coast’s (PPCCC’s) compensation philosophy supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Each position has a salary based on market value and the organization’s pay levels. The starting salary for this position is $29.86/hour with an opportunity for an increase after six months of employment. As part of our commitment to pay equity, PPCCC does not negotiate salaries. Pay Differential: $1.00/hour bilingual Spanish/English differential pay is offered upon passing the language assessment test.
