Production Associate

Description Job Title: Production Associate Department: Operations FLSA Classification: Non Exempt Grade: Location: Seattle, WA Status: Active Reports to: Production Manager Prepared by: Mike Clacy Effective Date: JOB SUMMARY Production associates perform production related tasks that can include but are not limited to molding or forming of plastic parts, deflashing or trimming plastic, drilling, assembly, inspection and packing of parts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities 1. Work in assigned area or production cell producing a variety of plastic parts or assemblies. 2. Follow written and verbal instructions in order to produce parts to specification and performance standard. 3. Keep accurate track of production performance and correctly input data into company computer system. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Education · High school degree or GED equivalent 2. Experience · Experience with production or assembly type of work is preferred · Experience working within the plastics industry in a plant setting (preferred) 3. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Ability to read, write and communicate in English · Ability to follow written and verbal instructions · Experience using electric or pneumatic hand tools is preferred · Prior experience working within a lean manufacturing and continuous improvement environment is a plus EQUIPMENT USED · Computer · Hand tools including electric, pneumatic and manual · Pallet Jack MENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Mental Effort The position requires an ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks for long periods of time. Adaptability to move from one task to another is needed in order to accommodate production demands. 2. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for long periods of time up to 10 hours per day and regularly lift up to 40 lbs. 3. Working Conditions Conditions consist of manufacturing floor environment. The shop environment can be at times loud and dirty.
