Description

The Day to Day: In the Sales Intern role, you will support the Phoenix sales team with customer activity, market research, opportunity tracking, account management initiatives, and business development efforts. You will gain broad exposure to how sales, operations, service, and customer support work together across the utility, rail, municipal, and lifting equipment markets. • Assist the sales team with prospecting, market research, and identifying potential business opportunities. • Support customer and account-management activities by organizing information, tracking needs, and assisting with follow-up. • Help maintain accurate sales pipelines, opportunity trackers, customer records, and related reports. • Assist with the preparation and coordination of customer quotes and sales materials. • Follow opportunities through the sales process, from initial prospecting and quoting to order execution and customer follow-up. • Communicate with customers, sales professionals, branch leadership, and internal support teams to help ensure a positive customer experience. • Collaborate with operations, service, and customer-support teams to understand customer requirements and support effective solutions. • Contribute to business-development initiatives and complete additional projects based on business needs.   In This Internship, You Will Gain Experience With: • Sales and business development in the equipment industry • Customer prospecting and market research • Opportunity and sales-pipeline management • Account-management and customer-support practices • Preparing quotes and supporting the order-execution process • Customer communication and relationship development • Cross-functional collaboration with sales, operations, service, and branch leadership • The utility, rail, municipal, and lifting equipment markets   You Will Be Exposed To: • A professional branch sales and operations environment in Phoenix, Arizona • The complete sales process, from prospecting through customer follow-up • Customer needs across several specialized equipment markets • The relationship between sales, service, operations, and customer support • Collaboration with sales professionals, branch leaders, customers, and internal support teams • The day-to-day responsibilities of account management and business development • Potential career paths in sales and business development   Qualifications: • Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Communications, or a related field. • Interest in sales, business development, customer service, and the equipment industry. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach. • Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and time-management skills. • Ability to conduct research, organize information, and manage multiple priorities. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. • Demonstrated work ethic, initiative, leadership potential, and alignment with company values. • Availability to work approximately 40 hours per week during the internship period.
