Building Location: St Josephs Medical Center Department: 4005100 NURSING ADMINISTRATION - SJMC Job Description: Spend Summer 2027 at Essentia Health - St Joseph's Medical Center as a Student Nurse Intern in Brainerd, MN! Education Qualifications: As a Student Nurse Intern, you will work under direct supervision, providing essential support in both routine and technical aspects of nursing care for patients of all ages. Key Responsibilities: Assist with patient care activities while adhering to best practices and protocols. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure compliance with the Joint Commission and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations. Help maintain a safe and healing environment for patients and families. Units Available for Student Nurse Interns: Progressive Care Unit (PCU/ICU) Float Team Emergency Department (ED) Medical/Surgical Medical Unit Procedural Units: OR/PACU/Cath Lab/Endoscopy Oncology Grace Unit (Behavioral Health) Family Birthplace *Unit availability may vary. Internship Requirements: Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program (BSN or ADN) Completion of junior year coursework of a Bachelor’s Nursing Program OR two semesters of an Associates Nursing Program by summer 2027. Enrollment and active participation in an approved internship co-operative course at an accredited nursing school in the state of employment for the summer semester Must be able to commit to 32-40 hours/week (up to 400 hours for the entire summer). Working Shifts Include: days, nights, and weekends Students with full/part-time summer class loads will have adjusted hour requirements and must be able to commit to 32 hours every two weeks Internship Wage: $22.00/hour Internship Dates: June 7th, 2027 - August 13th, 2027 Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 1 month of hire. This certification must not expire during the internship.
