Description

Overview Kimley-Horn is looking for Planning students to join our San Jose, California (CA) Aviation Planning team in Summer 2027! This is not a remote position. Responsibilities Support the development of aviation planning and strategy studies for state DOTs and airport clients, inlcuding: State aviation system plans Aviation economic impact analyses Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) planning initiatives Airport business plans, master plans, and Airport Layout Plans (ALPs) Conduct research, data collection, and analysis to inform planning recommendations and policy decisions Prepare clear, concise, and well-structured technical reports, memoranda, and presentation materials Support project managers in organizing tasks, tracking deliverables, and ensuring timely completion of assignments Coordinate with internal team members and external stakeholders, including state aviation agencies, airport sponsors, and industry partners Demonstrate strong follow-through by proactively closing the loop on assigned tasks and communicating status updates Contribute to a collaborative team environment while taking ownership of individual work products Apply GIS and other analytical tools (as applicable) to support planning and visualization efforts Qualifications In the process of receiving a Planning Degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program in of the following majors: City and Regional Planning Urban Planning Transportation Planning Aviation Planning Hourly Rate: $33.00/hr - $34.00/hr Why Kimley-Horn?
