Job Summary The Project Engineer Intern supports project teams in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects across various industries and technical disciplines. This internship offers hands-on exposure to real-world construction operations, providing opportunities to learn how projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. Interns may be assigned to different end markets, services, and geographic locations based on business needs and individual interests. Essential Job Responsibilities Assist Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents with day-to-day project activities Support document control efforts, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, and specifications Assist with project scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting Participate in quantity takeoffs, cost tracking, and budget support activities Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers Attend project meetings, site walks, and safety briefings Help maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with company standards and project requirements Support quality control and safety initiatives on the jobsite Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful project delivery Minimum Qualifications Required: Strong interest in construction and project delivery Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with construction software is a plus Willingness to travel or relocate temporarily based on project needs Preferred: Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field Familiarity with construction software Experience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive, multi-site organizations Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment: Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments Must be able to comply with all safety requirements and policies Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed Potential visits to outdoor industrial sites with exposure to weather extremes. Potential exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, or other environmental factors. This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
