What you'll do
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on stationary crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues with crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, and other plant systems.
- Replace or repair bearings, belts, pulleys, motors, gearboxes, liners, and other plant components as needed.
- Conduct welding, cutting, and fabrication work to repair or modify equipment and structures.
- Assist with equipment installation, alignment, and setup of new plant components.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
- Work closely with production personnel to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient plant operations.
- Operate mobile equipment (e.g., forklift, skid steer, manlift) as needed for maintenance tasks.
- Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and communicate equipment issues promptly to supervisors.
- Must have dedication to safe work practices
- Previous maintenance experience
- Mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be willing to work a regular night shift.
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Must be willing to work outside in a variety of conditions
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening

Arch Materials is an underground limestone mine/quarry seeking candidates to fill our need for a Maintenance Technician for our night shift operation located in Batavia, OH. We offer competitive pay with health, dental, vision, 401K, short term disability, long term disability and life insurance benefits. We also offer a variety of safety equipment, paid holidays, and paid vacations. Wages starting at $25.00/hr. for entry level candidates. This pay rate includes a $23.00 per hour base rate and a $2.00 per hour shift differential. Overall Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and skillset.
