What you'll do

- Perform repairs on heavy trucks, heavy equipment and all other rolling stock needed.
- Trouble shoot and diagnose a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brakes, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating and cooling, and electrical systems.
- Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance on construction equipment and dump trucks.
- Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
- Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
- Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
- Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
- Operate mobile equipment.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience is required.Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under DOT regulations & company safety policies and practices.
- Must be computer literate and able to use a laptop for diagnostic purposes.
- Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
- Experience performing DOT Annual Inspections is preferred.
- Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
- Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet
- Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
- Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.

Rogers Group is currently seeking a Heavy-Duty Rolling Stock Mechanic for our Tuscumbia, AL quarry and other aggregate facilities across western Alabama. This position will be reporting to the Area Production Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.
