Junior Surveyor

DNV – Maritime Region Americas is seeking a Junior Surveyor to join our Gulf of Mexico operations in New Orleans, LA.  As a Junior Surveyor for the Gulf you will be member of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors serving the more traditional shipping segments calling ports along the Gulf Coast for surveys/audits on ships in operation, ships under construction.    What You'll Do * Survey ocean-going ships that call at ports of call and at sea, including drydock and alteration surveys.  * Survey and certification of Ships in Operation for compliance with international standards, DNV Classification Rules, and Statutory requirements.   * Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the Rules, Regulations, Instructions, Guidelines and quality requirements of the organization and the instructions of the line management.  * Review and respond to technical queries and design submittals regarding compliance. * Seek for internal support as necessary through experienced colleagues, line manager, Technical Support or equivalent.  * At all times maintain the confidentiality of Clients' business intellectual property, processes, designs, developments, and documentation.  * Communicate to line management at the earliest appropriate opportunity when in receipt of information that is important to the reputation or integrity of the organization.    * Exhibit customer-oriented focus by promoting DNV onboard or on-site, and by acting as a technical resource for customer questions.
