Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a highly motivated, ambitious Traffic Engineer. The position
will offer the opportunity to work across the discipline on small and large
high-profile Transportation projects. You will perform a variety of tasks that
will require the application of sound principles and best practices.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Projects duties will include: traffic signal system design and re-timing,
operational analysis, roadway capacity analysis, traffic safety and/or impact
studies, traffic related signing and pavement marking and design, street
lighting / illumination design, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and
Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
compliance design and monitoring.
* Support preparation of construction documents and cost estimates for City,
County and State roadway and highway projects.
* Perform complex engineering tasks per Department of Transportation’s (DOT’s)
design standards.
* Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate the technical aspects of assigned
projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Proficiency in HCS, SYNCHRO, VISSIM and TransCAD.
* Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, including writing technical
reports and memos using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge of the design/planning procedures for local agencies, DOT and FHWA.
* Experience would ideally include traffic operations and safety; highway
capacity analysis; traffic operational analysis; Manual on Uniform Traffic
Control Devices (MUTCD); designing and implementing traffic signal system
timings.
* Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgement,
creativity, and innovation.
* Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing
agencies Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, and
effectively communicate ideas, design issues and solutions to others.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) minimum.
* EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
* Preferably 2 years traffic engineering project experience.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are
provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final
agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications,
experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus
eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the
agreed number of working hours per week.
