Family Haven is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to building a community of happy, healthy individuals and families through the prevention and treatment of child abuse and trauma. With locations in Orem and Lehi, we provide a range of family support programs designed to strengthen relationships and promote long-term well-being. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting our core programs and daily operations. It is an excellent opportunity for students interested in social work or related fields to gain meaningful, real-world experience within a dynamic social services organization while making a direct impact in the community. What You’ll Gain Meaningful, hands-on experience supporting children and families Practical training in trauma-informed care and social service delivery Confidence leading and facilitating groups in real-world settings Direct mentorship from experienced, licensed social work professionals Insight into the day-to-day operations of a nonprofit organization Valuable experience to support future graduate school and career goals What You'd Be Doing Work directly with children in our respite care program Support front desk operations and assist with administrative tasks Co-facilitate group parenting classes Lead or assist with social skills groups for children Participate in community outreach events Help plan and implement family-focused community events Supervision Supervision is provided in accordance with school requirements. We offer supervision from licensed professionals, including BSW, MSW, and LCSW-level supervisors. Qualifications Commitment to a minimum of 425 total hours (may be completed across multiple semesters) Availability to participate in-person during regular business hours (no virtual-only option available) Currently enrolled in a BSW program OR MSW students (Year 1) Must be currently enrolled in an accredited program Students in related majors (currently enrolled in an academic program) who intend to apply to MSW programs are also eligible to apply.
