What you need
- Education:
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience:
- 3 years of database management experience with complex Tele-management systems.
- Demonstrates quality leadership in the management of IT organizations and a strong background in large multifaced network operations.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to analyze and study business needs and provide solutions to support them.
- Ability to specify, plan, and manage projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a variety of users (administrative, academic, support personnel, etc.)
- Ability to understand and clearly relate to other members of the organization, technical issues, software specifications, and general methods of network operations and security requirements.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, documents, etc.
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment.
- 6 years managing a complete telemangement system. Subject matter expert on telecom billing, infrastructure, public safety, reporting, work order processing, service work-flow and database management. (Educational environment preferred)
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Experience in a large complex campus environment with communications systems that comprise a broad range of services including but not limited to, voice, wired and wireless networking, Audio visual, cellular, public safety systems and commercial broadcast television systems.

This position manages and maintains the Technology Management System for the Communications Group within OIT Telephone Services, Network Services and IT Engineering Services. The system is the communications billing, inventory, infrastructure database repository and supply management system for services offered to the Departments, Programs, Divisions, Campuses, Faculty, Staff and External Customers and the E911 application for Knoxville campuses. This position also plans, and coordinates resources related to billing, work orders and service requests. Communicate project plans and schedules, prioritize requirements and coordinate resources for upgrades/enhancements to the overall system.
